Tottenham Hotspur will face Manchester City as they welcome them to North London on Sunday hoping to redeem themselves from the poor showing during their previous encounter. The Lilywhites will come into the match on the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory over Preston in the fourth round of the FA Cup, so we can expect them to give fierce competition.

Antonio Conte will most likely opt for a 3-4-3 formation and is expected to name a strong starting XI for this important fixture. Harry Kane will return down the middle while Pedro Porro will make his debut against the Sky Blues who let him go earlier in his career.

Defence

Hugo Lloris will replace Fraser Forster to operate in between the sticks for Spurs hoping to keep a clean sheet in this home encounter. Conte could name a back three of Clement Lenglet, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s backline as they look to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez will provide cover for the defensive positions as they wait for their chance to impress in the second half if required.

Midfield

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur will anchor the midfield for Tottenham as they try to dominate possession at the centre of the park. Both of them will also need to create meaningful chances for the frontmen if they wish to advance further into the competition.

Pedro Porro will get the chance to impress as the right-sided wide player while Ivan Perisic keeps his place on the left flank. Conte will ask both of them to work hard and create some problems for the Man City full-backs on the flanks.

Yves Bissouma and Emerson Royal will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to impress in the latter half if needed.

Attack

Heung-Min Son will get a chance to give a good account of himself as the left-sided attacking midfielder while Dejan Kulusevski looks to weave his magic from the right.

Harry Kane will lead the charge for the North London club on the attacking end of the field. The English centre-forward will have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Spurs on his own up top.

Arnaut Danjuma will be available for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Tottenham are in need of a goal by then.
