Popular commentator claims Gerson MUST be called up to Seleção | OneFootball

The participants in the ‘Bem, Amigos’ program of SporT, have debated whether or not Gerson should be called up to the Seleção.

All of the commentators agreed that the Brazilian national team needs a player with the characteristics that Flamengo’s number eight has.

For them, Gerson is the best midfielder in all of Brazil and deserves a call-up. Popular journalist and former Brazil international Caio Ribeiro took it one step further and sent a message directly to Tite.

“What I am going to say I think is unanimous. You can’t keep Gerson out of the national team, Tite. I understand that he did that nonsense and he must have regretted having refused the Brazilian team in the past.

“You have already given him the punishment you had to impose. But I do not see any midfielder with the power to control the game, neither in Brazil nor outside Brazil, with the quality of Gerson.”

Commentator Galvão Bueno also added his two cents: “Since when I was commentating (before the pandemic), I’ve been saying: how can Gerson not play in the national team?”

Of course, Gerson is in contention to be called up to the Brazilian national team for their Conmebol World Cup qualifiers next month against both Colombia and Argentina.
