Whilst Hervé Renard is still in his post as manager of the France Women’s team, his time in the role is seemingly coming to an end.

It is expected that Renard, who managed Saudi Arabia at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, will leave his role with Les Bleues at the end of the Olympics. He said as much during a press conference earlier this week. Confirming that he had informed the FFF of his desire to move on at the end of this summer’s tournament, he outlined his personal objectives going forward.

“It’s a difficult job. If I had to be brief, I have in the back of my mind the 2026 World Cup in men’s football, I hope that it will be my third World Cup at the head of a men’s team. These are my personal motivations,” said Renard. It is clear that the Frenchman is therefore looking to take charge of another men’s national team in the near future.

He won’t be short of suitors, according to L’Équipe. The former Zambia and Ivory Coast manager is reportedly a target for Poland, South Korea, Cameroon, Nigeria and even Morocco, in the event that Walid Regragui leaves his post.
