Tottenham Hotspur announced a new transfer into the club. The team has signed Polish striker Nikola Karczewska.

Last year was a breakout season for “Kerczi.” She moved from the Polish league to D1 Arkéma, where she joined FC Fleury and formed a Polish trio with Dominika Grabowska and Ewelina Kamczyk.

Scoring 10 goals (including a hat-trick against Saint-Étienne), Karczewska was Fleury’s best scorer—finishing in the top 10 of the French league’s top goalscorers. The 2021/22 season also brought her to the long-awaited goals in the national team, with six out of Polish twelve goals against Armenia and a score in 1–2 defeat at Ullevaal against Norway she opened up her scoring account for the national team.

At the beginning of July, she announced on her Instagram account that she was leaving Fleury for “a new challenge.” The next day, the BBC’s Emma Sanders reported Karczewska was on her way to England. Former Poland international Joanna Tokarska, now a leading women’s football co-commentator in Poland, specified the transfer destination as “Northern London.”

Tottenham officially confirmed the speculation on Friday. Along with the announcement, the club reported that Karczewska signed a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
