Poland have today announced their 29-man preliminary squad for Euro 2024. Michał Probierz guided his side to next season’s tournament in Germany after overcoming Wales in the playoffs via penalties.

Krzysztof Piątek put Poland in a 5-4 lead before Leeds United’s Daniel James missed the corresponding penalty, sending Wales packing and Biało-czerwoni through.

At 35, this is likely to be Robert Lewandowski’s and Kamil Grosicki’s last major competition with Poland – the duo have been excellent servants to their national team with a combined 241 caps between the pair.

At 19, Kacper Urbański and Oliwier Zych are the youngest named in Probierz’ squad. The latter is yet to make an appearance and is named as the fourth goalkeeper, while Urbański has one cap to his name. Probierz must also eliminate three people from his preliminary squad.

Poland have been drawn in a difficult group, alongside the Netherlands, Austria and France.
