Regular season to end v Altach

As was also the case in our previous home match, we are hosting the side that is currently bottom of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga at the Red Bull Arena, with SV Ried having handed over 10th place to SCR Altach. The side coached by Miroslav Klose lost against Ried last weekend and therefore could desperately do with some points in the final match of the regular season.

We are facing less pressure, but our boys are just as motivated. With 54 points from the first 21 gameweeks, we have the best record at this stage of a season since three points for a win was introduced. A win against Altach would see us set a new record for the regular season. We would be well served to remember how far Altach pushed us in the first meeting this season on a rainy day in the western tip of Austria. Altach's top scorer Atdhe Nuhiu (9 goals) made for a dramatic finish with a late equaliser before our boys took a deserved 3-2 win.

Matthias Jaissle faces a selection dilemma in defence this Sunday, with two players out suspended in Amar Dedic and Strahinja Pavlovic. Jerome Onguene (toe) is also not available, while Ignace Van der Brempt is a doubt – and some creativity may be required for a starting XI.

No matter who lines up this weekend, the most important thing is that our boys have the chance to count on your support. Tickets are available there and online in the Ticket Shop. Everything you need to know about coming to the stadium on Sunday can be found in our matchday info:

I am not a big fan of looking at statistics and records during the season. The fact the team have been so consistent after all the change in the summer and so many departures is something quite special. I would be pleased if we can set this new record [most points after a regular season] as it is confirmation for all our work over the past few months. In my view, our team has faced a bit more criticism than what they have deserved.

Matthias Jaissle

If we want three points on Sunday, it is down to us to play our own football on the pitch. We will try to build on the performances of recent weeks, which were really good. I am pleased, of course, to be scoring goals again and more effective in attack. First and foremost, I am getting into the box more, putting more into my attacking and getting the rewards.
