Paul Pogba is claimed to be ‘enthused’ by the arrival of Ralph Rangnick at Manchester United, with the midfielder set to return from injury next month.

Pogba is currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained on international duty and is undergoing rehabilitation work in Dubai, though remains on course to return to the side next month.

The France international is believed to be encouraged by Manchester United‘s imminent appointment of Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season, with The Athletic reporting that Pogba has received ‘positive feedback’ regarding the German coach from contacts within the game.

The 63-year-old’s appointment is expected to be confirmed this week, but it remains unclear whether Rangnick will be in charge for Thursday’s clash with Arsenal, or the fixture with Crystal Palace this weekend.

Pogba’s return from injury next month will be a boost to the former RB Leipzig coach, though the midfielder’s long-term future remains uncertain ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The 28-year-old will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides over a free transfer move during the winter window, having entered the final months of his existing deal at Old Trafford.

Negotiations over a new deal have failed to find a breakthrough despite an offer from the Red Devils remaining on the table, with clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid monitoring his situation.
