Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino has admitted it is "fundamental" that Kylian Mbappé follows Neymar's lead in committing his future to the club.

A week ago, the Brazilian superstar penned an extension through to 2025 with the option for another season, and Pochettino would love Mbappé, whose contract expires in 2022, to extend his deal with the capital club.

The World Cup winner, 22, has scored 25 Ligue 1 Uber Eats goals this season and celebrated his double against Montpellier in the Coupe de France semi-finals on Wednesday evening by jumping into the arms of his coach.

Pochettino said: "I've got a bad back now and I've needed treatment from the physio! It's true. PSG have an ambitious project and keeping Kylian is fundamental to everyone's future."

Pochettino: "You can win or lose a trophy in a single match"

Reigning champions PSG are at home to Reims on Sunday evening as they try to take the Ligue 1 title race to the final round of matches of the season. Pochettino confessed: "Even if you might say that all matches are the same, at the end of the season you can win or lose a trophy in a single match. The situation is different and the players feel that. We mustn't repeat the errors we made against Rennes and we must keep control of the match."
