We noted that Mauricio Pochettino made some rather pointed comments pre match about Mykhailo Mudryk needing to be less of an individual, and those were rather matched by the coach’s comments after the game today.
On what is the Ukrainian’s best night since joining the club in January, Pochettino praised him for his performance, but also noted that along with adaptation and the usual stuff that young players need, that the winger needed to find “maturity.”
Perhaps it’s not as deliberate as we think, but it does seem the manager is hinting at something. In the end, it doesn’t matter too much. What matters is that his manager likes him, and he’s playing better and better as the weeks pass.
Let’s hope the injury that caused him to leave the pitch proves minor, and that he’s fit and ready for Burnley on Saturday.
