Dele Alli looks to be a doubt for Tottenham’s EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea next week.
The England international was forced off during Spurs’ 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday with what looked like a hamstring tear.
There’s been no official word from the club as to the severity of the injury, but in his post-match press conference Mauricio Pochettino admitted that things didn’t look too good for the 22-year-old
Pochettino went on: “It is in the left hamstring, I hope it is not a massive problem, but we will need to assess.”
“Some injuries appear in a period with a more busy schedule and another opportunity opens the door for players not consistently in the starting XI or on the bench. It is great opportunity for different players to show quality.”
Tottenham host the Blues on Thursday and are 1-0 up from the first game.
If Alli is ruled out it will only add more injury woe to the club after they revealed they would be without Harry Kane for six weeks with ankle ligament damage.
