Mumbai City FC defender, Rahul Bheke has admitted that playing in the AFC Champions League has been a huge learning experience for both him and the club after the Islanders ensured they finished second in Group B.

Mumbai City beat Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Juwiya (Air Force Club) 1-0 at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, thereby registering their second win in the tournament.

Bheke created history by becoming the first Indian to score a goal in the AFC Champions League, scored the winner in Mumbai's 2-1 win over the same side on April 11, with the Islanders becoming the first Indian club to win an AFC Champions League (ACL) match, which is Asia's premier club footballing competition.

"My message to all the Indian media is that the team has done really well and each and every player in the team had a learning experience playing here," Bheke said as quoted by ISL's official website.

"This will definitely help the youngsters who are in the team and obviously it will help our team to prepare for next season also. And surely, the teams and the players who are watching there, it’s a big motivation or inspiration. I believe they can see the Indian players doing really well at this stage, so it’s also possible for them to do well here and achieve their targets," he added.

Courtesy of the double over Al-Quwa Al-Juwiya (Air Force Club), Mumbai have finished second in Group B with seven points from six games.
