Manchester City defender Kerstin Casparij says that representing the club is a real joy.

The 22-year-old full-back joined The Cityzens in the summer off the back of a solid UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 campaign for The Netherlands.

Casparij has made eight appearances for Manchester City in all competitions so far this season and she has generally impressed in defence.

When speaking to the club’s official media channels, Casparij said that representing Manchester City is a joy and she is delighted with how much game time is being offered to her by head coach Gareth Taylor.

“I’m very happy, especially because I am getting so many minutes,” Casparij said when speaking to Manchester City’s official media channels. “To be playing in this team is such a joy, even in the more difficult moments, it is such a joy to be on the pitch.

“I do feel like I am getting better and better every week. I do make my fair share of mistakes and I will, but I look forward to improving and becoming the best version of myself.”

After a difficult start to the season, Manchester City have now won six matches on the spin in all competitions. Casparij went on to say that the team are feeling really calm and they are now fully-focused on beating Sunderland in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup on Sunday.

She said “We are buzzing but everyone is also really relaxed, it is not like we’ve won six games so we think we’re unbeatable, we’ve got good confidence in ourselves but we are really chilled about it.

“We look forward to each game and we look forward to hopefully winning on Sunday.”
