Opta, the respected sports data company, gave Leicester City supporters more worries on Sunday morning. The Foxes have only just lost 4-0 at home to Brentford, and that disgraceful result has had an affect on the east Midlands team. Judging by statistical forecast, the King Power club are already down. Opta have reduced their their survival chances dramatically.
Meanwhile we have apparent news on how the LCFC squad is feeling at present in the midst of a terrible campaign. More specifically, the Leicester players have supposedly passed verdicts on threatened yet evidently respected Foxes manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. You may be forgiven for expecting a mutiny on Filbert Way following six straight defeats without a goal at KPS.
So, will a potential repeat relegation be avoided in Leicestershire? And does the roster appreciate having the Dutchman at the helm or not? Let's find out.
Oh dear. It seems as though everyone and their dog expects LCFC to eventually be relegated this season. And the team won't get a reprieve from Foxes of Leicester. Unfortunately we have to be realistic with our expectations.
City are predicted a woefully abysmal 26.04 final points. Typically it is claimed that sides require a minimum of 40 in order to survive the dreaded drop.
Naturally, Leicester are second to last in Opta's Power Rankings; Southampton take the unwanted title. But, most concerningly, the outlet only attribute LCFC a 5.4% survival rate.
While Leicester fans are gradually beginning to turn on the 48-year-old, the City roster apparently appreciate him. RvN might also be safe from the sack this season. Chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha informed the squad that the club cannot afford to appoint another manager in 2024/25.
"BBC Sport says the Dutchman can count on the players' confidence. Even those who don't play regularly recognise Van Nistelrooy's influence."
