Chelsea’s sale of Nicolas Jackson is accelerating, with more and more sources reporting on Bayern Munich’s interest in the striker.
Despite having pushed back against some reports, it seems the German giants are well and truly in the mix. There are too many different sources from different places reporting that the move is on to be ignored.

Rahman Osman’s piece for the Sun has this afternoon claimed that Jackson’s agent is in London today to “finalise” the deal with Bayern.
“Sources within the Chelsea camp believe the club has seen two productive seasons from Jackson, during which he has continued to develop, scoring 24 goals and providing 10 assists in 64 league appearances,” is what Osman writes, slightly confusingly.
They believe they saw two good seasons or they did see two good seasons? Either way it feels like a paragraph which is lacking its second half. It certainly doesn’t follow logically that they would want to sell him because he had two good seasons.
“A move to Bayern Munich, who have lost Jamal Musiala to a long-term injury-is seen by both parties as a timely and beneficial separation,” makes a lot more sense.
It could still prove a real battle to sell Jackson, and it still feels like there’s a good chance he ends up staying at Chelsea for the season. Our demands are likely to be extremely high, and while Bayern can afford to pay, they won’t want to feel like they’re being held hostage.
We’ve yet to hear any concrete updates on how progress is going agreeing a fee, and there may be a good reason for that. There is a lot of talk of a potential loan deal, which is an interesting twist to the whole formula.
