Player will be sent back to Chelsea after failing to make an impact at loan club

According to a report this afternoon, one on loan Chelsea player is going to be sent back to his parent club after failing to make an impact whilst out on loan.

Chelsea have a bunch of players out on loan this season as they always will do, but really, there has been a few examples of disastrous loans so far.

I’m not sure that David Datro Fofana’s loan to Union Berlin can necessarily be described as a disaster yet, but it’s certainly not gone well at all.

Perhaps this report is a little premature because the player is on a season-long-loan deal anyway, but SPORTBILD (cited by Sport Witness) are claiming Union Berlin will send Fofana back to Chelsea this summer after he failed to make an impact during his loan spell.

This would suggest that perhaps there was an idea for Berlin to either sign him on a permanent deal, or extend his loan contract, yet now they are deciding against doing either.
