Kyle Hudlin has been recalled by Huddersfield Town from his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon, it has been confirmed today.
Hudlin is a towering centre-forward and has earned recognition for being the tallest in the EFL, with him standing at 6ft 9in.
He can play, though, with Huddersfield picking him up from non-league after he impressed at that level, though he is yet to appear in the league for the Terriers.
Indeed, soon after he arrived at Huddersfield he headed out on loan to AFC Wimbledon, who dropped to League Two for the start of this season, and he registered double figures for league appearances for them, though most were from the bench and he did struggle for goals – failing to hit the net in the fourth tier.
Huddersfield have decided it’s time to bring him back to Yorkshire for the time being, then, with the news confirmed earlier today:
The Verdict
Hudlin probably would have liked to have played more for Wimbledon during his time there but ultimately he could not force his way into the starting line-up and stay there.
As mentioned, most of his appearances were from the bench and Huddersfield may well have felt that that lack of real regular game-time was hampering him, so they’ve recalled him.
