One of the shocks of the weekend saw Werder Bremen easily dispatch of Borussia Mönchengladbach 5-1 at the Weserstadion. After a strong 3-0 win against RB Leipzig in their last game, Gladbach collapsed early on conceding four in the first half. Bremen, who continue their strong start to the season will add this result with their 3-2 win against Borussia Dortmund as one of the highlights.

Niclas Füllkrug opened the scoring within five minutes for Bremen, before Marvin Ducksch only three minutes later equalised, then to top it off Füllkrug scored again to give Bremen a 3-0 lead within 13 minutes. Ramy Bensebaini would make it four for Bremen with an own goal before half-time. Gladbach looked to be an improved side when Marcus Thuram scored a goal back in the 63rd minute. 10 minutes later, Mitchell Weiser would score past Yann Sommer to make it 5-1.

The result sends Bremen into eighth one place above Gladbach. Next week, Bremen travel to Hoffenheim on Friday, while Gladbach play rivals FC Köln at home on Sunday.
