His first season, and what a season. The Primavera’s campaign has reached the end stage, although there’s still so much to play for. 2006-born Alessandro Bonimi has been enjoying his very first season with the U19s, and it’s certainly been a positive one. He’s been a great discovery for many and a vital player for Coach Abate, who has shown no hesitation in giving him playing time. Behind the striker, out wide, in the centre of the park and more: he’s versatile and fearless, bold but with a responsible head on his shoulders.

Alessandro has grown game by game, and it didn’t take long for him to settle in and make an impact. In fact, he scored the Rossoneri’s first goal of the season on matchday one away to Monza, a game where he immediately displayed his determination. Since then, he’s added more than a few goals to his tally, including a brace against Juve. Our No.30 has also contributed through assists and, above all, plenty of convincing performances, showing real consistency in the process.

His contribution goes beyond mere numbers, which, nevertheless, are impressive. Bonomi was also a key figure in the Rossoneri’s extraordinary run to the Youth League final in Nyon. In the semis against Porto, for example, he remained calm and composed to coolly slot home in the penalty shootout. In the Primavera 1 division, meanwhile, he’s scored three goals in the team’s last four outings, including in the 3-3 draw away to Torino, a result that sealed AC Milan’s spot in the playoffs. Alessandro doesn’t want to stop and now has the Primavera Finals firmly in his sights.

Next up for the Rossoneri, who must win within 90 minutes to progress, is a showdown against Lazio. The team have achieved their objective and are in the running, and now it’s time to dream. From his relationship with the Coach to personal and team ambitions, Bonomi spoke to our microphones in an exclusive interview, during which his maturity and desire to improve were on full display as he looks to reach increasingly greater heights: “Reaching the playoffs was our objective, and now we’ll play our cards. The 90 minutes against Lazio will be a battle. We don’t want to have any regrets, meaning we’ll be fired up and determined. This is a great group; we’re united and help each other out. I have a special relationship with Coach Abate.”
