Oliver Skipp one step closer to returning for Tottenham Hotspur from injury

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp is hoping to start outdoor training later this week in a bid to return from his latest injury.

The Englishman suffered a freak injury at Hotspur Way last month, just a day before our friendly game against Rangers. He competed in an aerial duel and was left with a deep cut on his foot and a hairline fracture in his heel.

As a result, he has completely missed the club’s start to the Premier League season. The injury came at the worst possible time for him as well.

This is the time where fringe players would want to make an impression on the boss. Antonio Conte would have wanted to watch the 21-year-old closely before the Premier League opener against Southampton.

Skipp continues his rehab

But as it turned out, Skipp wasn’t able to participate in the game against Rangers or AS Roma in Israel. Spurs also missed his presence in their 4-1 win against the Saints in the PL, and the 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

As it turns out, Spurs have recently been linked with Manchester United’s James Garner and Ruslan Malinovskyi of Atalanta.

The former, especially, is of a similar profile to Skipp. The Spurs midfielder would be itching to get back and compete for starts alongside Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, and the ever-reliant Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg.

Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, and Harry Winks could all be gone from N17 this summer, at least until the next transfer window. The Argentina international is already at Villarreal on a season-long loan deal.
