Jurgen Klopp ‘loves’ Conor Bradley but the youngster looks to be fighting for his future under Arne Slot. That’s if a new report is to be believed.

Liverpool supposedly like the look of Lutsharel Geertruida. It’s a transfer that makes a lot of sense, after all - he’s currently playing wonderful at Feyenoord under Arne Slot.

It’s now claimed that the chances of Geertruida moving to Anfield are ‘greater than 50%’. Or at least, that’s according to De Telegraaf’s Marcel van der Kraal.

Geertruida would certainly offer plenty. He’s still only 23 but can operate in several positions, as well as knowing Slot’s system inside out. He’s a player the probable-new Liverpool boss can rely on - and so no one should be surprised to see him on the shortlist this summer.

Geertruida primarily plays as a right-back, though, and that brings up a question - is there still room for Conor Bradley? The Northern Irishman looks set to be fighting for his future at Liverpool if there’s any truth to this new rumour.

Conor Bradley’s Liverpool future

A lot has been made of Slot’s ability to get the best out of his full-backs. Geertruida is a fine example of that, in fact, and there’s focus on what he could do with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Scouser will almost certainly be the first-choice at right-back, of course, unless Slot decides he could use him in midfield. Assuming he’ll want him as a full-back, though, the sensible-signing of Geertruida would suddenly knock Bradley down the pecking order.

And if Slot wishes to have a backup right-back in his squad, it certainly makes more sense to have the Feyenoord star, given he can play several positions as cover. It does make you wonder where Bradley would get his games.

Of course, it would be premature to suggest Bradley is a goner. But there is a sense that he’ll need to seriously impress Slot this summer if he’s to secure the bright future he’s had under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp, after all, has publicly stated his ‘love’ for Bradley. He claimed earlier this season, in fact, that he loved him from the very first training session.

Naturally, Slot doesn’t have that same love for a player he’s never worked with. The youngster must do it all over again, then, and inspire his new manager as he did Klopp.

Otherwise, he may suddenly find his spot under threat.
