I think they [Chelsea] are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.

The west London club have been linked with a move for the Ecuador international in recent weeks. They are not alone as rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the midfielder.

Caicedo has enjoyed a superb start to the new season as his side currently sit fourth on the table, three points ahead of the Blues. The midfielder himself has played a huge part in his side’s success till now.

He has started all the games for his side this season in the league and even has one goal to his name. The midfielder has been displaying impressive performances every week and it is not surprising that top clubs are interested in him.

N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have both entered the final year of their current contracts. With the duo’s future uncertain, a young midfielder is needed to replace them. Caicedo is the perfect candidate for that.

With Conor Gallagher and Carney Chukwuemeka already in the team, adding the 20-year-old could sort out the Blues midfield for years to come. It remains to be seen if Potter makes a move for his former player in January or next summer.

Potter took charge of his first game for Chelsea last night. His team played out a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg and sit last in their Champions League group E standings. With this weeks fixture against Liverpool postponed, Chelsea will travel to face Crystal Palace on October 1 next.
