Bournemouth return to the Premier League after two seasons away with Scott Parker leading the charge this time.

The south coast club’s days of spending big on new signings are over though, with a familiar-looking squad trying to stay in the top flight. Will it be enough?

🔑 Key player: Dominic Solanke

There was a time when Dominic Solanke was considered alongside the likes of Tammy Abraham and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as an England number nine in-waiting.

But a big-money move to Bournemouth in 2019 coincided with a drastic drop form and his hopes of one day leading the line for his country seemed over.

Last season though, getting a run of games under new boss Scott Parker, Solanke was exceptional.

The 24-year-old bagged 30 in all competitions and will need to be at his best again this term if the Cherries are to survive.

What has changed since last season? 🤔

It’s been a relatively quiet few months on the south coast with Bournemouth’s big-spending days seemingly over.

The Cherries have been trying to balance the books for a while and so the only arrivals at the time of writing are Ryan Fredricks and Joe Rothwell, both on frees from West Ham and Blackburn, respectively.

Scott Parker will be hoping that a squad made up of players from the last time in the Premier League can do better with a little more experience this term.

There is one major change, though: the return of midfielder David Brooks.

The Wales international has recovered from a cancer diagnosis in 2019 and could well make his return to professional later this season.
