Premier League clubs are set to blocked from using any of their Brazilian internationals this weekend.

According to the Times, the Brazilian FA (CBF) have requested Fifa enforce rules that say players can be prevented from playing for five days after representing their national team.

The news comes after a tense international break began with the Premier League giving clubs permission not to release players for certain international fixtures amid coronavirus concerns.

If the ruling is enforced, Chelsea (Thiago Silva), Liverpool (Alisson, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino), Leeds (Raphinha), Manchester City (Ederson, Gabriel Jesus) and Manchester United (Fred) will all be without players this weekend.

Fred would also be ineligible for Manchester United’s Champions League opener against Young Boys on Tuesday.

The report claims Richarlison will be able to play for Everton, thanks to the club’s good relationship with the CBF.

If the rule is ignored and players do feature for their clubs, they could be forced to forfeit the match.
