Ruben Amorim is clinging on until the end of the season until he’ll finally be granted his desired signings by INEOS chiefs.

The Manchester United boss is making use of the tools at his disposal while also navigating several detrimental injury setbacks, including Amad Diallo, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo.

In the winter, he saw his squad bolstered by only two arrivals in the forms of Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven, the latter of which had not made his senior league debut at the time of his switch from Arsenal’s academy.

Amorim is poised to bid farewell to four senior Reds who are all out of contract in June, with Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton seeing out their final three months at Old Trafford, having not been offered fresh terms by the board.

As such, Lindelof and Evans departing will likely require reinforcements at centre-half, paving the way for United to revive their interest in one longstanding target.

United tipped to revive Jarrad Branthwaite pursuit

After having two bids rejected for the 22-year-old last year, it was reported the Red Devils would return for Jarrad Branthwaite in 2025. Now, they remain on his lengthy list of admirers, and could therefore re-test Everton’s resolve with a substantial offer to prise him from the blue side of Merseyside.

The Toffees, however, are preparing for such a situation. According to GiveMeSport, they are willing to ‘triple’ the wages of their stalwart centre-back – hailed as a ‘magnificent’ talent by Alan Shearer – in hopes of fending off outside interest.

Their complete resurgence under former flame David Moyes has seen Everton break out of the mix of the relegation candidates, currently sitting 15th-placed and only a point behind United.

From Branthwaite’s point of view, he’ll be well aware that being a nailed-on starter at this stage of his career is non-negotiable, so would perhaps be deterred by the prospect of vying with Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro for a place on the teamsheet each week.
