The Premier League returned after an uneventful international break with an obscene amount of drama.
Itâs time to catch our breath and hand out our weekend rewards.
David Moyes unfortunately had to isolate away from the West Ham squad after contracting COVID-19 and while he was away, the Hammers won both their games while scoring seven goals.
The internet could barely contain itâs glee when Tottenham went 3-0 up inside the first 16 minutes. âWest Ham are better with Moyes at homeâ were the cries.
Then his team pulled off a remarkable comeback in the last ten minutes to draw 3-3.
Moyes has got through a season of The Fall on Netflix, recovered and looks a new man. Welcome back.
Manuel Lanziniâs last Premier League goal was in February 2019 but by the way he took his 94th minute equaliser against Spurs on Sunday youâd think he did this every week.
The audacity to even attempt that when you know it is going to be the last kick of the game and your teamâs last chance of salvaging something.
Kudos, Manuel.
This award might have to be shared between two players this weekend.
We canât determine which âtackleâ was worse; Jordan Pickfordâs on Virgil van Dijk or Lewis Dunkâs lunge into a crowd of Crystal Palace players on Sunday?
NSFW.
When Chelsea completed the signing of Edouard Mendy from Rennes, we can imagine Kepa Arrizabalaga wasnât expecting to see any more game time this side of Christmas.
However, Mendyâs injury on international duty means Kepa was thrust back into the spotlight against Southampton.
The Spaniard slipped while trying to deal with Kurt Zoumaâs back-pass and made a hash of the situation when trying to redeem himself, allowing Che Adams to score and force the Saints back into the game at 2-1.
Chelsea ended up drawing 3-3 despite looking in control at 2-0.
Trouble just seems to follow Kepa around.
Timo Werner has well and truly arrived in the Premier League.
The German international scored his first league goal for Chelsea to give the Blues the lead on Saturday and added a second with a lob over Alex McCarthy before nodding into the empty net.
This was much more like the RB Leipzig version of Werner weâre all so used to.
Chelsea might have a gem on their hands.
Did anyone else think we had been transported back to 2016 when Islam Slimani came on in the 71st minute of Leicesterâs 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa?
After loan spells at Newcastle, Fernerbahçe and Monaco, the Algerian is back at Leicester and back into our lives.
He barely touched the ball after coming on but itâs still good to have him back.
Speaking of going back in time âŚ
The city of Liverpool is at war with a Conservative government. Everton and Aston Villa are in a title race in the top division in England.
We are back in the 1980s mates.
