It was the weekend in which Manchester City were once again crowned champions and Roberto Firmino said goodbye to Anfield.

Here are our Premier League awards.

The Deserved Champions Award

In the end, it happened without Manchester City even kicking a ball.

Arsenal’s defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday ensured that City could not be caught at the top of the Premier League table.

It handed Pep Guardiola’s side their third-straight league winners medal, with the club on the first step to the Treble.

The Phenomenal Farewell Award

Roberto Firmino waved goodbye to the Liverpool fans on Saturday as his eight year tenure at Anfield came to an end.

Of course, the Brazilian striker got himself on the scoresheet late on to hand the Reds a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

The Proper Club Award

Nottingham Forest confirmed their Premier League status on Saturday with a brilliant win over (then) title-chasing Arsenal.

Morgan White-Gibbs was at the heart of everything Forest did well, setting up the only goal and leading the celebrations afterwards.

They’re a proper club with coach Steve Cooper performing miracles to keep them in the division.

The No Toney, No Problem Award

Ivan Toney’s eight month ban could have spelled trouble for Brentford with two games left of their season.

What transpired at the weekend could not have been further from potential trouble.

The Bees won their first ever away game at Spurs, with Bryan Mbeumo netting twice in a stunning 3-1 win.

The Leave Now Award

Once again, Harry Kane was on the scoresheet over the weekend but watched as his Tottenham side were embarrassed at home to Brentford.

It once again leaves speculation over his future rife.

Should the Spurs captain leave this summer for a better future?

In our minds, absolutely.

The Big Sam’s Big Mistake Award

Sam Allardyce has only been in charge of Leeds for three games but after another defeat on Sunday, the newly-appointed coach has pointed the finger of blame at his substitutes.

The Yorkshire side went down 3-1 to West Ham, leaving them firmly in the relegation zone with just one more game to go.

“I expected a better impact from the subs so that gives me an even bigger look at the situation and the squad as a whole,” he told reporters.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think any of the subs made a difference today when we needed them.”

Leeds now need to better Everton’s result next weekend to stay up.

The Signing of the Season Award?

Is it any exaggeration to say that Manchester United would be nowhere near the top four without Casemiro?

The Brazil international has, when available, been instrumental for Erik ten Hag’s side this term and scored this past weekend to hand United a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

It means that, with two games to go, Champions League qualification for next season is almost assured.
