Pisa closing in on move for Lorient midfielder Panos Katséris | OneFootball

FC Lorient midfielder Panos Katséris (24) is closing in on a move to Serie A side Pisa SC, according to Foot Mercato.

Katséris joined Lorient in January 2024 from Italian Serie B side Catanzaro. The right-sided midfielder featured 22 times in Lorient’s title-winning 2024-5 Ligue 2 campaign.

Foot Mercato reports that a few details still need to be ironed out before a deal can be finalised between Lorient and Pisa. While an agreement on a transfer fee is close, Katséris’ salary terms remain unresolved. There are also minor concerns over his fitness, as the player missed the tail end of last season with a hip injury. However, optimism over a deal “remains high.”

Pisa earned automatic promotion to Serie A last season after finishing second in Serie B. Their manager, Filippo Inzaghi, surprisingly left the club just weeks after winning promotion to return to Serie B with his new club, Palermo.
