Pirlo says Gennaro Gattuso ignored his advice over Lucas Paquetá

Andrea Pirlo doesn’t like some of the ways his former team-mate, Gennaro Gattuso, is doing things over at AC Milan.

Gattuso, however, appears set in his ways.

Although Lucas Paquetá was a versatile player at Flamengo, often playing at the number 10, he has seen himself on the wing for the totality of his young Milan career so far.

“We had a dinner a few days ago,” the ex-Juve star said.

“I told him that I don’t like to see Paquetá play in that position. He is too wide.

“Rino listened to me but in the following game he played him exactly in the same position,” Pirlo said smiling.

Since becoming available, Paquetá has started all 11 possible games for Milan.

He has yet to lose in Italy – his sole Milan loss came in the Supercoppa Italiana, a 1-0 defeat to Juventus in Saudi Arabia.
