Filippo Inzaghi could be reappointed as Salernitana coach just after over a month of getting sacked by the Serie A.
According to a report by Sky Italia, Salernitana are gearing up for a last chance at survival in a devastating season as they are looking to make sure that Filippo Inzaghi returns to the club as head coach.
After gathering a single point (1-1 versus Udinese) from his five matches in charge, Fabio Liverani was sacked by the Granata board. He took over from Inzaghi on 11 February and failed to bring a positive change to the side. Therefore, he received the boot after just over a month.
Salernitana are ready for a third change in the bench this season after the departures of Paulo Sousa and Pippo Inzaghi. However, the latter is likely to take over at the helm of the club and hopefully change the club’s fortunes from the rock-bottom place.
The Salerno-based side are 11 points away from survival and with just nine games remaining of the campaign, they stand virtually relegated from the Serie A.
