Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not play for Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening despite the club insisting he was available for selection.
The Gabonese has been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Dortmund angrily responding that no official talks had taken place after comments from Arsène Wenger on Thursday morning.
Sporting director Michael Zorc and head coach Peter Stöger had reiterated this week that the striker would be considered for selection against Hertha BSC on Friday but he has not been included in the travelling party.
“Aubameyang trains in Dortmund,” sporting director Michael Zorc explained.
“We have the impression his mind is occupied with other things so it begs the question whether he can help us in Berlin (on Friday).”
Reports in Germany have said Arsenal will have to pay Dortmund’s €70m asking price in full to land the 28-year-old.
