Groups A and B played their final group stage games as Netherlands, Senegal, England and USA all advanced to the knockout rounds.
Here are some of the best photos from day 10 at the World Cup.
Cody Gakpo may be one of the biggest stars of the World Cup so far having scored three goals in three games for his Netherlands side, but he still took time to commiserate his Qatari counterpart after the host nation exited the competition having scored zero points.
Watford’s Ismaïla Sarr was as cold as ice when he gave Senegal the lead with a no-look penalty…
…and his goal celebration made sure that everyone knew he hadn’t looked at the ball when he struck it.
After a heroic last gasp victory over Wales, Iran’s players were distraught after defeat to USA sent them home.
And Christian Pulisic literally put himself in harm’s way to score the USA winner, having to take a trip to the hospital after the game after suffering from abdominal pain.
The ‘Red Wall’ were proud of their players after their first foray into World Cup football since 1958.
But England’s dominant performance sent them home, after an inspired performance from Marcus Rashford.
Tomorrow sees the final game of Group C and D, with Argentina and France both in action.
