Reds midfielder Naby Keita was spotted at Melwood training with the first-team ahead of Liverpool’s group stage Champions League clash against Ajax.
Keita did not feature for Guinea over the international break. The Guinea international was not included in the Liverpool squad that took on Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.
It was reported that Keita tested positive for COVID-19 when he was on international duty. However, Keita recently received a negative result, which means that he is free to train and play for Liverpool.
In the four appearances that Keita made in the Champions League last season for Liverpool, he averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.40.
The aforementioned statistic highlights that Keita performed quite well in the Champions League last season.
With that being the case, if Keita features against Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA tonight, he could add something to Liverpool’s midfield.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp hopes Keita can be involved in the match. The image below was provided by @LivChron.
