Christian Eriksen returned to the scene of his senior international debut on Wednesday as Denmark thumped Austria in FIFA World Cup qualifying.

The Inter midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Kasper Hjulmand’s side recorded a 4-0 win at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna.

Eriksen debuted for Denmark’s first team in the same stadium back in March 2010, when he played 33 minutes in a 2-1 defeat.

The 29-year-old compared his appearance now with a more fresh-faced Eriksen on Instagram, adding the hashtag: “A lot less hair, but a bigger smile…”
