Inter’s Serie A season has not exactly been going according to plan, and things got even worse with the team’s shock loss away to Spezia yesterday evening.
This was yet another setback, but hardly the first for the Nerazzurri this campaign.
Losses against the likes of Lazio, AC Milan, Udinese, Roma, Juventus, Empoli, and Bologna preceded yesterday evening’s surprise defeat at the Stadio Alberto Picco.
As football statistics account Opta pointed out in a tweet, this makes it only the third time since the beginning of the three-points-for-a-win era in Serie A that the Nerazzurri have lost this many matches in the league after 26 played.
They tweeted, “8 – Inter have lost eight games in this league, in the three points for a win era (since 1994/95) they have suffered more defeats after 26 #SerieA seasonal games only twice: 11 in 2011/12 and 10 in 1998/99. Pain.”
