Inter central midfielder Arturo Vidal has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to give his side of an incident television cameras picked up prior to the Derby d’Italia.

Prior to the game, Vidal was seen embracing with former Juventus teammate Giorgio Chiellini and in doing so, he kissed the Juventus badge but the Chilean national team player has insisted that this was not his intention.

Vidal scored Inter’s first goal in the 2-0 win over Juventus.

He posted: “My intention was never to kiss another team’s badge.

“The kiss was a show of affection for a brother, with whom I had wonderful years together and we love each other.

“I respect my team, our fans and the people who trusted me to defend and continue to grow the history of this beautiful club and I’ll give my soul for that!

“Forza Inter.”
