Inter were full of love for Giovanni Trapattoni as the Nerazzurri’s former boss celebrated his 82nd birthday on Wednesday.

Trapattoni took charge of Inter in 1986 and spent the next five years there, before returning to Juventus in 1991.

During his time at San Siro he won one Serie A title in 1989, setting a new record points tally for the two-points-per-win-era, as well as one Supercoppa Italiana and one UEFA Cup.

Inter took to Instagram and said: “The legendary leader of Inter’s record-breaking side.

“Happy Birthday, Giovanni Trapattoni!”
