Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of midfielder Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan to Qatari club Al-Duhail.
The Brazilian made just 43 appearances for Villa after initially signing on loan from Barcelona in January 2022, scoring six goals in that stretch. However, his short stint is set to come to an end for now.

The 31-year-old suffered an injury in Villa’s match-week two fixture against Everton, forcing Unai Emery to look elsewhere for creativity in his lineup, and it appears Coutinho is surplus to requirements as a result.
Al-Duhail currently sit in third place in the Qatari Stars League.
