Phil Foden scored his first Etihad Stadium goal to give Manchester City a 2-0 lead over Rotherham United on Sunday, but it looked like he scored by accident.

The 18-year-old Stopfordian was named in the starting line-up for the FA Cup third round tie and just before half-time, he bagged what is only his second senior goal for the club.

But if he tells you he meant it, he’s lying.

That probably isn’t how the boyhood City fan envisaged his dream first home goal, but they all count.
