The Czech goalkeeper won with 53 per cent of the vote, followed by Edwin Van der Sar with 21 per cent, Liverpool’s Allison came third with 11 per centand David De Gea placed fourth on six per cent.

However, not all voters agreed with the choice of participants with a significant nine percent of the HaytersTV audience telling us they wanted to voted for other No.1s.

Peter Schmeichel, for example, was a popular choice. Some of the comments included one from @gavincrawley who said: ‘Schmeichel and i’m an LFC fan. Enormous, intimidating and had a red nose like Rudolph :)’. Big Gav was supported by @dutchgiggler4824 who commented: “It’s definitely Peter Schmeichel”’ and Arsenal fan @jc6087 who stated: ‘Peter Schmeichel and I’m a Gooner.’
