Premier League sides were required to submit their final 25-man Premier League squads on today (October 20).
The most notable absentee was Mesut Özil who missed out for Arsenal, in addition to defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
But Chelsea have one-upped their London rivals by including retired former goalkeeper PETR ČECH.
“Petr Čech has been included in the squad as emergency goalkeeper cover,” read an official statement from the club.
“This is a precautionary step due to the unprecedented conditions currently caused by the Covid-19 crisis.
“He takes up a position as a non-contract player.”
Čech returned to Stamford Bridge as technical director in 2019 after a three-year spell at Arsenal.
The 38-year-old spent 11 seasons with Chelsea, winning four Premier League, four FA Cup and one Champions League title.
