Péter Gulácsi is set to finally return to the starting lineup for RB Leipzig after spending eleven months on the sideline injured.
Tomorrow Leipzig will travel to take on SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFL Pokal first round.
Gulácsi suffered a cruciate ligament rupture back in October 2022 and recently made his return to the Leipzig squad in the Bundesliga when he was a substitute in their win against Augsburg on the 16th September.
The Hungarian international now finally has the chance to start for Leipzig again in almost a year and head coach Marco Rose has discussed the importance of his return.
“It’s important just in case Janis Blaswich gets injured, because Pete will already have had the feeling of being back in goal again,” said Rose.
“There’s an international break as well soon, so he might get some minutes then too.
“It’s all about taking baby steps as far as his integration back into the team is concerned.
“We’ve got a lot of faith in Pete and his quality as a player, but at the same time we’re aware of his injury and how long he’s been out for.”
