Seventeen Eagles, including Borré and Smolcic, will undergo performance tests on Thursday and Friday.

The Eintracht Frankfurt first-team players will have three weeks off after cramming 24 competitive games into the first half of the season – but not just yet. After last week’s Japan Tour and the upcoming friendly games against SV Sandhausen on Friday 2 December (kick-off: 13:30 CET) and Atalanta on Friday 9 December (20:00 CET), the players not participating at the World Cup are still in training mode.

Among the 17 players at the ProfiCamp at Deutsche Bank Park were Rafael Santos Borré and Hrvoje Smolcic, who were back from international duty with their respective countries.

The Eagles were given three days off after returning from Japan on Sunday, before undergoing a series of endurance and strength tests on Thursday and Friday. The purpose of the tests was primarily a “mid-season assessment,” according to Andreas Beck, head of conditioning, prevention and rehabilitation. “On the one hand, it shows how the boys have developed and on the other, it shows how they have reacted to training and the frequency of games.”
