Leicester City will lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, hoping to pick up a positive result away from home. The Foxes will be heading into the contest on the back of a disappointing 4-2 loss to Newcastle United, whereas the home side recorded a 3-1 win against Aston Villa.

The visitors will probably opt for a 5-3-2 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last match as Luke Thomas looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.

Defence

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to start in goal for the Foxes. The Danish shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Tuesday.

The trip to Old Trafford might come too soon for Jonny Evans, who has been struggling with a foot injury.

“We’ve been managing that (Evans’ foot injury) over the last couple of weeks, and he’s come through well.” – Brendan Rodgers stated in the post-match press conference.

“We’ll just have to see how he is tomorrow (Saturday) and see what his availability is like going forward.”

As a result, Rodgers could choose to field a back five consisting of Timothy Castagne, Caglar Soyuncu, Luke Thomas, Wesley Fofana and Ricardo Pereira as they look to keep things solid at the back on Tuesday.

However, their prime objective will be to keep Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani quiet throughout the ninety minutes.

Midfield

Youri Tielemans will partner Ndidi at the centre of the park; however, they might be assigned very different roles. The former should take up a more defensive position, shielding the back three, whereas the latter will stay central, dictating play with his ball distribution.

James Maddison remains a major doubt ahead of the upcoming clash.

“He’s not 100 per cent, that’s something I said before, he’s not up to game speed. The problem is you’ve got to give them the minutes and game-time to try to get there, likewise with Ricky (Ricardo Pereira).” – The gaffer revealed.

Ayoze Perez might start in the attacking midfield role. The Spanish international would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal scoring chances for the front men.

Nampalys Mendy will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.

Attack

Jamie Vardy will lead the charge for the Foxes down the middle. The English striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the United defence that has kept just one clean sheet in their last five matches across all competitions.

Kelechi Iheanacho will take up the secondary striker position. He has been in fine form lately, and he’d to hoping to add to his goal-scoring tally against Solskjaer’s side.
