Brighton striker Percy Tau paid tribute to club management after scoring for South Africa yesterday.
His fine finish secured a 1-1 draw with Ghana in an AFCON qualifier in Johannesburg.
He said: “I was grateful that the communications with Bafana (South Africa) and Brighton were successful and it allowed me to come.
“I know that in some teams it was difficult to allow the players to come over.
“But for me it goes smoothly to reach an agreement, even though I still have to go and quarantine for ten days."
Tau is delighted Graham Potter let him go.
He added: “It's good to have somebody who tries to understand the needs of the player.
“I've got the balance with him to say, 'You can still go and get some game time even though we will lose you for some time'."
