Portugal defender Pepe has announced his retirement from football after 23 years as a professional.
The 41-year-old spent a decade with Real Madrid and nine years with FC Porto in two separate spells, making over 700 appearances at club level.
He lifted the Champions League trophy on three occasions, as well as three La Liga titles and four Portuguese championships.
At the national level, he was part of the Portugal side that won EURO 2016 and made 141 appearances for Os Navegadores.
His tenure culminated in the EURO 2024 defeat to France, where he set a record as the oldest outfield player in the competition's history.
