‘Dream signings’, young players and top targets are among todays rumours as the January transfer window continues to tick by.
Here’s a complete round-up of todays transfer news…
The hunt for a centre-back goes on, and the latest player linked with a switch to the Etihad is Milan Skriniar. According to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports, the 24-year-old is Guardiola’s ‘dream signing’ and a deal is more likely to happen ‘in the summer’.
The January transfer window has been mainly focused on the youth and today’s story relates to a possible arrival. Following on from a report yesterday, Diarioas as relayed by Sport Witness, have said Manchester City and Barcelona are the two options that have been ‘sounded’ by Villarreal B midfielder Ivan Morante.
The next rumour comes from Nizaar Kinsella from Goal who claims Manchester City, along with Chelsea, have made Ben Chilwell ‘one of their top targets’. If a move were to happen, it’s more likely for it to happen in the summer.
Claudio Bravo looks increasingly likely to be leaving the club in the summer, and the latest club looking at Manchester City’s number two is Liga MX side C.F. Monterrery. According to 24HDeportesTVN, the keeper is ‘very close’ to a move to the club after ‘various proposals’ have been sent his way.
A rumoured replacement for the seemingly departing Leroy Sané has been Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal. He was today asked by WhoScored about the talk of him making the switch to Manchester:
“I don’t pay attention to those rumours. I’m focused at la Real. I’ve never thought about that [playing in another league]. I am very young, I hope to have a long career. I don’t know what the future has prepared.”
According to Sport BILD, as relayed by Sport Witness, Bayern Munich are ‘desperately looking’ to reinforce the right-back position.
Joao Cancelo is said to be ‘on their list’ but the German champions are looking for a ‘cheap’ signing or a loan deal; ones which City are not even considering pursuing.
One youngster who’s caught the eye of Manchester City fans is Jayden Braaf. But if Sam Lee’s comments from the Athletic are anything to go by, we wont be seeing his near the first team for the foreseeable future.
Braaf’s attitude in first team training has reportedly been ‘bad’ and he is seen as a ‘maverick’ in and around the academy. Sounds familiar right?
