Pep Guardiola has denied suggestions he could quit Manchester City at the end of next season.

Guardiola has two years left to run on his Etihad Stadium contract but there have recently been claims that the 48-year-old could leave the club a year early if he wins the Champions League next season.

The Catalan has also been heavily linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus this summer but he is currently in Barcelona for the Costa Brava Legends charity golf tournament, where he has responded to the speculation surrounding his future.

“I will not take a sabbatical,” said Guardiola, as quoted by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

“The news comes out, is repeated and is not contrasted. I have two years of contract and, if they do not kick me out, I will continue.”

Guardiola also recently gave an interview to City’s official YouTube channel in which he reiterated he has no plans to leave City before the end of his contract.

“There is no better place to play in the world than in England. Or to do your job as a manager here in England,” he said.

“I can compare it with Spain and in Germany, I have not been in other countries, but they would be quite similar. If I went to Italy it would be quite similar to Spain.

“There is no better place. In other places, fans boo you if you don’t win or don’t play good, but here they always support you.

“I am a blue shirt, I am one of yours.”
