Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named Premier League Manager of the year at an awards ceremony hosted by the League Managers Association.

Guardiola pipped Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo to the award after guiding City to a second successive Premier League title on Sunday.

City have racked up a staggering 198 points in the last two seasons under the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss and the 48-year-old could become the first manager in men’s football to win an English domestic treble if his side beat Watford in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley was named League Two Manager of the Year after The Imps finished top of English football’s fourth tier with 85 points.

Luton Town manager Mick Harford won the League One award after his side also topped the table with 94 points.

And the Championship prize went to Sheffield United chief Chris Wilder, who steered the Blades back to the Premier League as runners-up with an 86-point season.
