Lamine Yamal has received widespread accolades and praise for his performances at Barcelona over the past year or so.
The Spaniard has played a key role in helping Barcelona secure the domestic treble, ending the season with 18 goals and 25 assists – a tally unheard of from a 17-year-old.
Yamal also helped Spain win the European Championship last summer, which has led to many backing him to win the Ballon d’Or title, with Raul Albiol being the latest one to join the bandwagon.
Lamine Yamal’s exploits appear to have impressed legendary manager Pep Guardiola as well.
In a recent interaction, the former Barcelona manager, who once presided over arguably the strongest Barça team in history, wants to coach Yamal.
But Guardiola later clarified that he probably will never get the opportunity to coach the talented Barcelona prospect.
“I would like to coach Lamine Yamal, but that will not happen,” he said (h/t Josep Soldado Gomez).

This is high praise coming from arguably the best football manager in modern times, who has played a key role behind the dominance of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and now Manchester City.
Man City, though, are coming on the back of a disappointing campaign and will be desperate for reinforcements in the attacking unit.
While Guardiola might not be getting the chance to Yamal anytime soon, he will be looking for players who can offer a similar consistency and exuberance in the attacking third.
Yamal, meanwhile, will be keen on gearing up for the season ahead as he looks to maintain his rapid growth under the watchful eyes of Hansi Flick.
