Charlton Athletic will be looking to continue their impressive recent form on Saturday afternoon, when they host Bolton Wanderers at The Valley.

The Addicks go into that match having won each of their last three League One games, a run that has seen them climb to 15th in the League One table, eight points adrift of the play-offs.

Bolton meanwhile, go into the game fifth in the third-tier standings, meaning this is an opportunity for Charlton to put down a further marker, after beating another play-off hopeful, Barnsley, last time out.

So with that in mind, we’ve taken a look at the starting XI that Charlton manager Dean Holden could name to give his side the best possible chance of claiming another win, right here.

Having regularly used a 4-3-3 formation to good use in recent weeks, that looks likely to be the system Holden opts to use again on Saturday afternoon.

With Joe Wollacott still not ready to return from a broken finger, Ashley Maynard-Brewer will be looking to continue his fine form in goal for the Addicks.

In defence, new signing Matt Penney had been due to feature last weekend prior to the postponement of Charlton’s trip to Peterborough, so the Ipswich Town loanee could make his debut for the club here.

Mandela Egbo and Todd Kane are both still out injured, meaning Sean Clare should remain at right-back, while Ryan Inniss and Lucas Ness could continue at centre back after a clean sheet last time out.

The centre of midfield should again find captain George Dobson operating in front of the defence, with Scott Fraser and Jack Payne adding an attacking influence in the centre of the park.

Out wide, Cyrstal Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Tyreece Campbell both scored in that 2-0 win over Barnsley in the Addicks’ last outing, the latter netting his first senior goal.

As a result, they both look well set to start once again here, while Macauley Bonne may get the chance to lead the line from the off here, his first start since returning for the club, having now had plenty of time to fully settle back in at The Valley.
